Kaikōura for Families — Overview
Kaikōura is one of NZ's best wildlife destinations — the deep ocean trench just offshore supports sperm whales year-round, dolphins, fur seals, and a remarkable array of seabirds. The Kaikōura Seals colony at the Peninsula is free and walkable. Whale Watch Kaikōura boat trips run daily year-round. The town itself is charming with an excellent farmers' market and world-famous crayfish.
