What to Expect

The Skyline Gondola & Luge is a fantastic way to spend 2-4 hours with your family. The gondola ride up Bob's Peak offers breathtaking panoramic views of Queenstown and Lake Wakatipu. Once you reach the top, the kids can enjoy the thrilling luge ride, which they can even ride solo from the age of 3.

The restaurant at the top is also great value for lunch, with a range of options to suit all tastes and budgets. We found the staff to be friendly and accommodating, making it a great experience for families.

Age Suitability and Value for Money

The Skyline Gondola & Luge is suitable for kids aged 3 and above, making it a great option for families with young children. We found it to be excellent value for money, with prices starting at $35 per child and $50 per adult.

While it may seem a bit pricey, the experience and views make it well worth the cost. We give it a family suitability rating of 9/10, with the only downside being the potential for long queues during peak season.

Insider Tips and Best Time to Visit

To make the most of your visit, we recommend heading up the gondola early in the morning or later in the afternoon to avoid the crowds. You can also book your tickets online in advance to save time and money.

Another tip is to take a jacket or sweater, as it can get quite cool at the top of the mountain, even in summer. And don't forget your camera, as the views are simply stunning!

Booking and Saving Money

To book your tickets, simply head to the Skyline Gondola & Luge website and follow the prompts. You can also purchase tickets at the base of the gondola, but be aware that prices may be higher.

We recommend booking online in advance to save time and money. You can also look out for special deals and discounts, especially during the off-season.
